Boho Bauturm in Cologne

One of the first cafes I went to in Cologne was the Bauturm cafe on Aachener Strasse. I enjoyed a huge frothy coffee and a breakfast menu that set me up for the day. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere laid back and relaxed - perfect for a late Sunday morning brunch. Roll on a few years and nothing has changed at the Bauturm - the staff are as friendly as ever, and the breakfast menu is still exactly what you need after a night out on the tiles. With it's broken glass chandeliers and book lined back bar, Bauturm has a delightfully boho style that lends itself to relaxed late breakfasts and lazy lunches. When the sun shines it really comes into its own with its pavement tables - but even in winter there's dedicated table and heater to accommodate the die-hard pavement dwellers (and smokers). The menu changes regularly but is always 100% bio - and guaranteed to be tasty and reasonably priced.
