A breath of fresh Air

Where were you when Air burst onto the mainstream with their dreamy, synthetic pop inspired Moon Safari?  I can tell you exactly where I was because it was the soundtrack to my life for a few months in 1998.  Air is a music duo from Versailles, France, consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel. The name Air is a backronym for Amour, Imagination, Rêve, which translates to Love, Imagination, Dream.  After their critically acclaimed Moon Safari, the duo went on to release The Virgin Suicides, 10 000 Hz Legend, Everybody Hertz, Talkie Walkie, Pocket Symphony and Love 2.  They're on tour at the moment and can be seen at the Palladium, on Friday 29th January.  You might be a little uncertain about seeing a couple of guys standing behind a bank of sythns, but after seeing them live a few years ago in Munich, I can thoroughly recommend them.  It's not about pyrotechnics, dance moves or costume changes, with Air it's about the music, and if you're a fan, you won't be disappointed.
