Canteen style Italian food at Vapiano

If you like freshly made, simple and delicious Italian food then Vapiano is a restaurant you will like.  In this "canteen" style restaurant you can watch your food being cooked right in front of you. Tell the chef what you want and see the fresh ingredients being mixed together in the pan.  There is a menu of sauces at the pasta counter and a choice of freshly made pasta, plus some tasty daily specials like "Vanilla chicken sauce" or "Rafiloi Malaba". At the Pizza counter there is a long list of to choose from with prices ranging from €5 to €10.  There's a salad bar and a coffee bar where you can also pick up a scrumptious dessert.  Personally - I'm not too fussed about the whole "watching your food being cooked in front of you" thing, the drawback is that you have to stand in line and wait for your food to be cooked - which at lunchtime means a wait of at least 10 minutes.  I'd rather be sitting at a table talking to my friends while I wait, than standing in a line impatiently tapping my feet.  But at Vapiano the food really is delicious and wonderfully fresh, and if you order a pizza you can actually sit at a table to wait to be called when it's ready.  The seating inside is nicely laid out and the fresh herbs and olive oil on every table is a nice touch. There's a lovely terrace outside where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine, and the low level cafe area makes for a pleasant and laid back setting for a cappuccino and dessert.
