For Brits in Germany it's sometimes distressing watching and reading the daily disasters of British politics in the press.  Blair, Cameron and.... who's the head of the Liberal party again?  Oh yes - Nick Clegg. Up until now it's not something that's particularly occupied my mind - I just assumed the British voters would swing from left to right simply to get rid of Gordon Brown.  But it seems it won't be that simple - because the only other option appears to be hardly an option at all - David Cameron.  Depending on which paper you read (The Guardian is predicting a hung parliment, the Times see's the tories coming out tops, albiet with a very small majority) you'll have different expectations about the outcome of the May election - but what you may not have realised is that you can actually have a say if you feel strongly enough about it.  The British Consulate in Düsseldorf have a section on their website about overseas voting, which you can do by post, or by proxy.  You'll find all the information you need to register your vote - and even an overview of party policies and election spin.  So if this year you want to make a difference to what's going on "back home" make yourself heard, cast your vote.
