Come and Feel Spacey!

If you've ever wanted to know how GPS satellites work, what TEFLON does stick to, or how astronauts use the toilet in space, then put on your Spock ears and come to the DLR and ESA Open House Space Day this Sunday, 20th September 2009. This is a major open house event that happens once every two years and always draws a huge crowd. Because honestly, who doesn't love orbital mechanics and rocket science? There is a schedule of official events here. The day promises to let the public see how their tax Euros pay for research in aerospace, spaceflight, energy and transport. There will be lots of kid-friendly events and even the Airbus 380 will be on display at the Cologne/Bonn Airport from 10:00 - 13:00. So come on down and get to touch everything your mom always told you was off limits. I'll be in the medical exhibit booth area of the training hall in the ESA European Astronaut Center, so be sure and stop by to say hello and "Surrender or Die" in Klingon. I'll be nice when I have Security escort you out with your freeze dried ice cream.
