Deichkind does Düsseldorf

If there's one German band you have to see live - it's Deichkind. Their music is a mix of electro and hip-hop which they call TechRap. If you're a live band fan that might not sound so great - who wants to watch a bunch of DJ's and rappers running around the stage for two hours? A Deichkind gig is different. These guys go more for trampolines, vodka, pillow fights, audience participation, nakedness, and general mayhem. A friend of mine saw them in Munich last year and said it was one of the best gigs he'd ever seen - complete carnage and chaos set to pumping beats and insane lyrics. The band had a major setback this year with the death of their friend and producer Sebi Hackert in February and weren't sure if they wanted to carry on - but now they're back and on tour with their anarchic, electro-rap live shows - perhaps partly as a tribute to their friend? Let's see what's in store for the audience when they play the Phillipshalle on the 2nd December. Remember to shout "Yippie Yippie Yeeah!".
