Open Day at St. Georges School
St George's School has an open day this Sunday, 7th February - it's the perfect time to look at Cologne's oldest International School. Set up in 1985, St. Georges has been dedicated to offering English curriculum schooling to the International community right from it's inception. I met then principal Marietta Horton in 2005 when the school was split across three sites in Cologne. At the time, she told me of the school's struggle to survive and how their search for a main school site had so far proved quite illusive. Five years on and the school is thriving, they have a wonderful new building which unites all St. Georges children from ages 2-18. There is day care for the nursery age kids and boarding for the school age children. St. George’s is a state-approved English international school and seeks to provide the best of the English and international education systems for children of all nationalities. The school prepares pupils for the Common Entrance, I/GCSE, AS Level, A-Level and IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme). Both the A-Level examinations and the IB are accepted by universities worldwide. Pay them a visit and see how far they've come - you'll definitely be impressed.
