Seak - street art in Cologne

Graffiti has taken on a whole new meaning since Banksy burst onto the scene, and you may have noticed that around Cologne there is a wealth of what we now call “street art” to be appreciated. Indeed it's so appreciated that in parts of the city one particular artist has been commissioned to paint decent graffiti on KVB buildings to deter less talented “taggers” coming along and defacing them with bad graffiti. Seak is a local Cologne street artist with a whole lot of talent, and luckily he's not as illusive as Banksy. His high profile helps him attract big name commissions, such the one pictured here - which you can see on the building of a printer on Venloer Str. in Bocklemünd. He was recently commissioned by Thalys to paint some of their trains in a collaboration with two other famous Dutch and French street artists. Characterised by his spiky futuristic style satellites, you'll find Seak's work all over Cologne, and even in Düsseldorf, and you can also commission your own pieces - either on your building front, garage door or office wall, or on your own little canvas. Check out Seak's website for more information about this rising local star and then keep your eyes peeled - you'll start to see his work all over town.
